About Holly Pagnacco
Holly is a creative designer with 10+ years experience in web & interface design and a keen interest in usability. She is recognized as a resourceful team player who takes the initiative. She is detail-oriented and goal-driven, dedicated to determining the best solution and practises for any project.
At Seneca College, Holly pursued a full-time graphic design course and the Editor-in-Chief position at the school newspaper. After college, she was hired immediately as a contractor at Bell Canada. Her transition from print to online medium was complete as the internet grew and opportunities appeared.
Since 1995, Holly has been a successful freelancer, thriving in both team and individual efforts. She facilitates, coordinates and maintains communications with all stakeholders to establish budgets and define requirements, audience, and message to convey. She is able to provide complete website solutions including hosting and domain registration, design, development, testing and launch. She can provide project management and leadership — defining roles and responsibilities, writing specifications, identifying and prioritizing tasks, estimates and planning, coordinating additional or specialized resources, meeting deadlines and managing expectations.
At DWL Incorporated, she was the Production Coordinator/Designer, leading a small team of inhouse resources. The company developed websites, intranets, extranets and a framework solution targeted at the insurance industry. As the team lead, she commenced weekly meetings with project management to ensure resource availability and eliminate schedule conflicts. She proactively tested applications and reported and/or remedied issues to reduce post-release development costs and client dissatisfaction. She shared domain knowledge with subordinates to increase productivity of team. She provided technical support and expertise with project management to develop feasible and successful software.
At Algorithmics Incorporated, she was the Senior Interface Designer and Team Lead. Her team of inhouse resources worked on a suite of web applications for financial industry clientele. She initiated a relationship between Marketing & Communications and Development departments, to share resources and harmonize product interfaces with existing branding materials that reinforce the corporate identity. She introduced interface design standards on all web applications to enhance professionalism and strengthen the corporate brand. She conducted usability reviews on web applications, to increase user efficiency and reduce post-development expenses. She created and maintained library of reusable elements to ensure consistency in designs and reduce interface development time. She acted as key resource to coworkers and mentor to subordinates, particularly in the areas of HTML authoring, software tools, usability principles and overall web expertise.
She continues to acquire knowledge through formal training, independent research and life experiences.
